Who makes Ledger, and why
A game about money, even pretend money, should be run by someone in particular. This page says who we are, what we promise, and how to check both.
Updated July 22, 2026
Ledger is made by Martori Studio, a small independent studio, and you can reach the people who build it at hello@martori.studio. We built Ledger because the fun of calling a game never required losing money, yet every product in this category is built to take some. Ledger keeps the ritual and removes the money: real markets, real settlement, and a permanent record you build by being right.
Why a harm-reduction prediction game exists
You read a matchup, commit to an opinion before the outcome, and find out whether you were right. Betting apps did not invent that feeling; they attached a price to it. A sportsbook keeps a share of what its players wager, so the product works best, for the house, when you play more, more often, in more expensive forms.
Ledger is the same call with the money removed. Every call settles on what actually happened. Nothing goes in and nothing comes out. Safety is the shape of the product, not a settings page you have to find. The Dividend, free Float paid out every week and when players collectively rest, is never triggered by a loss. No timers, no expiring purchases, no countdown clocks. Daily rhythms exist, but nothing punishes you for missing a day, and free Float from the Dividend stays claimable for at least a week.
A game is not treatment, and we say so wherever it matters. If betting has become a problem rather than a habit, the resources on our responsible play page come before anything Ledger can offer.
The pledge, and how to check it
Anyone can publish promises. These are written so you can verify them yourself.
No real money, ever
The check is the product itself. The economy is closed: no deposit screen, no cash-out, no store, no price on anything. Float, the currency you spend, refills on its own and cannot be bought. Standing, the score you earn, cannot be sold. The Terms bind both as virtual items with no cash value. Open the app and look for a way to pay. There is none.
No ads
Ledger has never shown an ad, on this site or in the game. View the source of any page and count the ad scripts. The one advertising-related request is a Google Ads tag, disclosed in the Privacy Policy. It measures our ads and lets Google show our own ads to past visitors elsewhere. It never shows an ad on this site or in the game.
Settlement is checked, not guessed
Every market settles on the real result: real finals and boxscores for sports, real prices for crypto, and an automated, source-gated check of the public record for world and culture calls. When an outcome cannot be verified, the market stays pending rather than being guessed. The full methodology is public at how Ledger settles predictions.
The record is public
Player records are opt-in public pages under /p/, and every figure on them is recomputed from stored calls that were graded against real results, never self-scored. Scout, the in-game companion, publishes its own Call of the Day the same way, losses included, at Scout's record.
One commitment sits underneath the others: if any line of this pledge ever had to change, you would get plain notice first, and the delete button would still work. Data export and full account deletion are already built in, so that part you can check today.
How Ledger will make money
Right now, it does not. There is no payment path anywhere in the product. The plan is two things. The first is an optional membership: something worth paying for, paid directly by the people who want it. The second is licensing. The mechanics that make Ledger safer (an economy that rewards rest, a cool-off that interrupts the chase, hard rules against manufactured urgency) are useful to companies that are serious about responsible gambling, and we plan to license that work to them.
Three things will never fund Ledger: advertising, selling data, and selling Float. The last one matters most. The moment Float can be bought, it has cash value, and Ledger becomes the thing it was built to replace.

A note from the founder
I like the call. Reading a matchup, committing before the outcome, finding out. What I stopped liking is what the industry decided that feeling should cost, and how carefully the cost is hidden at the moment you pay it.
Ledger is my attempt to prove the fun was never the money. Play for a week and see if I am right. And if Ledger ever drifts from the pledge on this page, write to me at hello@martori.studio and say so plainly. That is what the address is for.
