A desk versus a tournament
Metaculus scores forecasts in a community. Ledger sits you at a desk with tonight's paper. Both care about being right. They are not the same room.

Metaculus is a forecasting platform: questions, community predictions, tournament scoring, and a public track record of probabilistic forecasts. Ledger is a prediction desk: Float tickets, a Board that grades against official results, Standing that only moves on skill calls, and a Shadow Line that estimates what a sportsbook would have taken. Ledger does not run Metaculus tournaments. Metaculus does not run a closed Float economy or a companion who refuses to Place. If you want a forecasting community, that is Metaculus. If you want a desk that keeps the sports ritual and removes the cash, that is Ledger.
What each scores
Metaculus scores a forecast against a resolution the community and the platform define. Ledger scores a ticket against an official final, a closing print, or a source-gated check of the public record. A Brier score appears on Ledger when a player states a number. That score is the same family of instrument forecasters already know. It is not a Metaculus ranking, and we do not publish a player count to look like one.
Scout’s Call of the Day is a dated public forecast with the losses kept. It is a desk object, not a tournament leaderboard.
