The words on this desk
Named objects with rules. Each passage is the product, written down. Code may still say stake or rain.
Updated October 12, 2026
Ledger's vernacular is small on purpose: Float is what you spend, Standing is what you keep, the Shadow Line is what a book would have taken, prints are Exchange closes, a push or a void returns Float, a cool-off writes rest, Scout never Places, and Pass means you read it and sat. These are the rule URLs. Settlement copy matches the graders.
Each heading is a prompt people actually ask. The passage under it is the answer, 120 to 180 words, from the same rules the desk ships. Settlement methodology is generated from the product’s own settlement code.
Float
what is Float virtual currency prediction
Float is Ledger's spendable virtual currency. You use it to place a call on the Board, open a print on the Exchange, or play a Case file. It refills every day: 500 as a base, more as you level, up to 1,500, plus a carry of up to 300 when Float was kept overnight. New accounts start with 1,000. Float has no cash value. It cannot be bought with money. Nothing of monetary value comes in or out. Running out is a stopping point, not a paywall. The weekly Dividend and a once-a-day cool-off also grant Float. Code still says stake. The game says Float. That mismatch is deliberate so storage keys never moved. Standing is a different object: a record, not a bankroll. Float is what you spend tonight. The record is what you keep.

Standing
what is Standing
Standing is the permanent record of judgment on Ledger. It moves only when a call against reality settles correct: a Board call, a Gauntlet entry, or a Duel. Chance rooms never write it. The Arcade, The Ascent, War, card tables, packs, The Case, and the Exchange never move it. A miss does not take Standing away. Pass does not move it. A cool-off does not move it. Nothing you can buy multiplies it. A correct call writes Standing from the market's own price, so a longshot that lands counts for more than a chalk that lands. Volume of tickets does not buy a rank. Standing is a record, not a bankroll, and Four Calls is taste drawn from that record, not a count of tickets.

Shadow Line
Shadow Line vs sportsbook hold
The Shadow Line is Ledger's answer to a question a sportsbook will not print: if these had been real bets at a real book, what would the house have kept? It is a dollar counterfactual computed from your graded calls, shown in plain dollars. It never decreases. It deliberately understates. Public record and the collective counter leave parlays and simulated losses out, even though parlays are where real books take the widest share. Published state reports put that share in the open: Nevada held about 7.1 percent of sports handle in May 2026; New Jersey held about 11.4 percent in November 2025. Those are the same figures the methodology page cites. Ledger took $0. The Shadow Line is the receipt for a purchase you did not make.
Push
what is a push on Ledger
A push is a call that reality refused to score as won or lost. A tie with no overtime on a moneyline returns the Float to both sides. A spread that lands exactly on the number is a push. A void after a stranded wait is recorded as a push. Float comes back. Standing does not move. A push is counted in the record and excluded from every hit rate, because padding a rate with pushes would flatter the caller. The settlement page and the methodology are generated from the same graders Ledger uses, so the copy cannot invent a half-win. Scout's line on a push is the same rule: Float returned. Standing held. A push is not a cool-off and not a Pass. It is the result when the event itself sat.

Void
what is a void on Ledger
A void is Ledger's honesty rule when a result never arrives. A call still unsettled three days after its result was due is voided as a push and the Float is returned. Multi-day events such as golf and motor racing wait a week. A void is never recorded as a loss. It moves no hit rate and no Standing. The settlement page and the methodology are generated from the same rules the graders use, so the copy and the code cannot disagree about what a void is. If the public source never answers, the ticket waits rather than guessing, then voids rather than inventing a final. A void is not a cash-out. The player did not leave; the source did. Scout will name a push, and nothing more.

Cool-off
what is a cool-off on Ledger
A cool-off is the brake. Once a day you can take one. It clears the loss streak and grants 150 Float for stepping away. Each rest day is written on the server, one per account per day, so it cannot be faked or farmed. Rest days feed the milestone Dividend: every 25 rest days across all players drops another 250 Float on everyone. Rest earns. Chasing does not. A cool-off is not treatment and not a Pass. Pass is passing on one ticket. A cool-off is passing on the day. If real-money betting has stopped being fun, the responsible play page comes first. Scout will name a rest day if you took one. He will not tell you what to play, and he will not send you to the chance rooms because you rested.

Prints
how prints settle on the Ledger Exchange
Prints on the Exchange are the official closes it reads. Crypto prints settle on a public price feed at the close. Equity prints settle on the official closing price after the session. One reading, taken once, with no rounding for the house. Standing is not affected on the Exchange. A print is a market read in Float, not a judgment call that writes the record. Also see the Board, where Standing lives. A seated Exchange card can put the posted line first. It does not change a payout. Scout will walk a print and name the price. He never opens one for you. A close is not a sportsbook hold and not a Shadow Line dollar. It is the price the print agreed to settle on before the session started.

The Dividend
what is The Dividend on Ledger
The Dividend is free Float that falls for every player. 750 falls for everyone every week. Another 250 falls each time players collectively bank 25 rest days. It is never triggered by a loss. Nothing counts down. The current week and the previous week stay open to claim, so you never have less than seven days to collect. Missing a day costs you nothing. Code still says rain. The game says The Dividend. That mismatch is deliberate so storage keys never moved. At a casino the drop comes when the house wins. Here it comes when the week turns, and when you rest. Scout will name a rest day. He will not tell you the drop is about to expire.

Scout
does Scout place bets on Ledger
Scout is Ledger's companion. He reads tonight's board, explains a line, and keeps a public Call of the Day graded by reality, losses included. Ask about a game and he explains both sides and the price. He never names a side or a size. He never Places on your behalf. He never sends you to the Arcade, The Ascent, or a card table. He never manufactures urgency. After you Place, after a grade, after a rest day, after you Pass, he names what you did and what to look at next. That is never a chance room. Scout's own record lives at /scouts-record, one dated call at a time. A miss stays on that page. The share card is a receipt, not a pitch.

Pass
what does Pass mean on the Ledger Board
Pass is a first-class Board action. You can read a ticket and pass without placing Float. Ledger logs that you read it. Standing does not move. Float does not move. Process XP is not granted. Scout may notice that you sat. Pass is not an early exit, not a void, and not a cool-off. A void waits on a missing result. A cool-off writes a rest day. Pass is the judgment that this ticket is not yours tonight. Nothing counts down if you Pass. Nothing punishes you for passing. The Place button stays available; Pass never blocks it. The record of Passes stays on the device as process, not as Standing, and never as a streak you have to protect.
